Inter-District 2026

Interdistrict is one of the oldest and most prestigious tennis competitions in Australia, with the first competition being held in 1921.

Nowadays the competition continues with Clubs and Associations throughout Metropolitan Sydney and surrounding areas competing on a home and away basis for the 15 Cups and the Interdistrict Competition Championship Award.

Tennis Macarthur is one of the strongest Associations competing in the Competition, having won the Interdistrict Competition Championship Award (McKerihan Shield) every year between 2006 and 2022. The McKerihan Shield is awarded to the Association with the highest number of points earned during the entire Interdistrict season each.

Team Nominations are now open. Members are encouraged to nominate, keeping in mind availability is required for the entire competition. Reserve players are also needed.

This is a selective, graded competition, please note by nominating you are not guaranteed to be selected. For eligibility, players must know the game's rules and be able to play in self-umpired matches.

Age Criteria

• Senior Men are to be over 35 years as at 30th September in the competition year.
• Open Cups (Blackwell & Angus & Coote) players must be over 15 years of age as at 30th September.
• Senior Ladies are to be over 35 years as at 30th September in the competition year.
• All Juniors shall be under the age requirement as at the 30th September in the competition year.

4 Team Divisions (dependent on entries) 9 Matches - No Semi's - Top 2 teams to final:

• August - 2nd, 11th, 16th, 23rd, 30th
• September - Final - 20th

Opens/Juniors:

4 Team Divisions 6 Matches + Semi's + Finals
