Tennis Macarthur is your local Tennis Association which has promoted and delivered tennis in the Macarthur (Campbelltown) and Liverpool area dating back to 1926. Tennis Macarthur strives to support schools and students in the Macarthur area through the game of tennis.


Our Tennis for School Sport program offers students in Primary and Secondary Schools the chance to learn valuable life skills in a fun and encouraging environment all the while aligning with the Australian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education (AC: HPE).  


We centre the delivery of tennis in a modified environment (if your school doesn't have a tennis court, no problem!), with the use of an included equipment pack, smaller court set up, racquets and over-sized, low-compression tennis balls. The Partnership Program ensures students are introduced to tennis in an environment that is encouraging, developmentally appropriate, inclusive and fun to ensure maximum participation.

Primary Partnership Program

  • Tennis Macarthur delivers the tennis for Primary Schools Partnership Program, using the ANZ Hot Shots Framework.
  • Partnership Program – developed to deliver tennis during class time aligning with the Australian Curriculum. 
  • Strong focus on developing technical skills and tactical skills in a fun, inclusive, developmentally appropriate, encouraging environment to play tennis. 
  • Your school will benefit as an official deliverer of ANZ Tennis Hot Shots with ongoing support to Curriculum resources (linked to Australian Curriculum H&PE).
  • We will connect you to a Tennis Australia endorsed professional coach from the local area or support for teachers who wish to facilitate the program as a Teacher Ambassador. 
  • Access to Bounce, an online learning platform with additional resources and support materials from Tennis Australia.

Secondary Partnership Program

  • Partnership Program for Secondary Schools has a strong focus on promoting lifelong physical activity and health through the game of tennis. 
  • Supports the Australian Curriculum by delivering aspects of the student achievement standards for Band 7, 8 ,9 & 10.
  • The Partnership Program uses a Game Sense Approach (GSA), covering 4 pillars -
  1. Movement concepts & strategy – playing the game.
  2. Active and healthy – physical activity, fun and fitness.
  3. Community – Tennis Sport education. 
  4. Personal, social and emotional – promoting personal and social competence. 
  • We will connect you to a Tennis Australia endorsed professional coach from the local area or support for teachers who wish to facilitate the program as a Teacher Ambassador.

Lessons For Life

Tennis is a sport that can be played for a lifetime from the age of 3 all the way to 100.

There are many physical benefits tennis can provide students, such as hand-eye coordination, gross motor control, fine motor control and balance to name a few. From a psychological point of view, students will benefit from improved alertness and concentration, improved social skills, discipline, sportsmanship and hones their strategic and problem solving skills.

Funding

Sporting Schools offers Grant Opportunities for both Primary ($1000-$3600) and Secondary ($1000-$2500) Schools for Years 7 & 8 for each school term. The grants support the delivery of our Partnership Program.
